Prior to donating, all donors must be in good general health, feel well, be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 100 pounds, have had something to eat and be well hydrated with non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated beverages. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility, call the Blood Donor Center at 617-632-3206.
The Brigham and Woman’s Blood Donor Center is a member of the joint program in transfusion medicine. This is a unique blood donor program shared by Brigham & Women’s Hospital, a whole blood collection facility, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Kraft Family Blood Donor Center, a platelet collection facility. Together they provide essential blood products to patients cared for in both institutions. The need for donors is great, and there is no substitute for human blood.
