This long-standing group meets on Sundays at 6:45PM in Parish Hall.
Holy Name Parish, in cooperation with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, hosts a blood drive approximately every ten weeks.
During the Christmas season, gifts are donated by parishioners and delivered to worthy causes such as shelters, women’s residences, and local families.
Maria Fo Mission Society
This group of women volunteers meets weekly to sew and prepare supplies for shipment to third world countries. The group collects and uses clean cotton, synthetic, and flannel sheets (white, colored and print), pillowcases, mattress pads and towels. Men’s shirts are cut and sewn into hospital gowns. Material for sewing and yarn for knitting is useful. Unused toiletry articles, plastic gloves, pins, ace bandages, support hose, and medical equipment are needed. NO MEDICATION accepted! Your support is appreciated in helping the suffering poor throughout the world. If you are interested in joining the group or would like to drop off donations, you can speak with a member Wednesdays (September through April) at 9:30AM in Finn Hall.
Respect Life Committee
This group works in collaboration with the Archdiocesan Pro-Life Office to raise the awareness of pro-life issues. The Committee sponsors a Baby Shower for Life in January.
Saint Vincent de Paul Society
SVdPS began in 1928. It provides loving interest to individuals via food, clothing, furniture, guidance, and other assistance on a short term basis. There are regular food drives to assist food pantries in other parishes. The group also serves dinner monthly at Rosie’s Place. Membership is by invitation.
