The Brigham and Woman’s Blood Donor Center is a member of the joint program in transfusion medicine. This is a unique blood donor program shared by Brigham & Women’s Hospital, a whole blood collection facility, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Kraft Family Blood Donor Center, a platelet collection facility. Together they provide essential blood products to patients cared for in both institutions. The need for donors is great, and there is no substitute for human blood.
